Islet Proteome Study

In 2021 we published a study where we investigated metabolic health from the lens pancreatic islet, using six different strains of mice on two diet to generate the most comprehensive islet proteome data to date. Using two independent analyses to correlate islet protein expression to whole-body metabolic parameters in the mouse, we highlight islet mitochondrial function as a key indicator of metabolic health. This study was published in iscience.

If you would like to see how your favourite protein behave in these islets, we have created a resource website with the data that you can be accessed at https://kebedelab.com/islet-proteome-resource. Individual group comparisons, between strains or diet, allow identification of significantly regulated proteins between each diet and strain provide a valuable public resource for islet interrogation.
